A five-year-old girl, the daughter of an agricultural/research scientist, was found dead in a clubhouse cellar in a gated community in the Kowkoor/Bollaram area of #Secunderabad ( #Hyderabad ) after going missing on Saturday evening (around October 10, 2026). Police suspect a recently dismissed security guard who allegedly demanded a ₹20 lakh ransom. The child, identified in reports as Aurelia (also referred to as Moses Aureli or Aurelia alias Monu), lived with her family at Villa Orchids in Kowkoor. Her father, Milton Fernandes Moses, works as a research scientist at an agri-based company. She had gone to the clubhouse area that evening—reportedly to watch Bathukamma festival celebrations organised by the community—and was later reported missing. Family members and residents searched the premises before approaching police. Today Around 7:45 pm, her grandfather received a call from an unknown number (later linked to a phone belonging to a security guard on duty). The caller, speaking in Hindi, claimed a child was in his custody and demanded ₹20 lakh, asking the family to come to an area in Secunderabad (references to Trimulgherry appear in some accounts). A similar call was made to the girl’s father. When the grandfather realised the initially mentioned child (described in one account as a grandson) was safe, the caller disconnected; the family still treated the matter as serious. Despite the family indicating willingness to pay, the phone was later switched off. Police and residents recovered the girl’s body early Sunday morning (around 1:30 am) from a water sump in the clubhouse cellar. Her hands and legs were tied, and bricks (or cement bricks) had been fastened around her waist. Reports describe the circumstances as consistent with drowning or related methods after the restraints were applied. CCTV footage reportedly showed the suspect following the girl before the incident. The primary suspect is Vikram (also referred to as Vikram Kumar), a native of Bihar who had worked as a security guard at the community and was recently dismissed (reports vary between a day or two earlier) for poor conduct or misbehaviour. Residents indicated the girl’s grandfather had been part of the residents’ committee involved in the decision, raising the possibility of a grudge. Vikram is alleged to have used another guard’s phone to make the ransom calls. He is described as absconding; his phone was reported switched off near Secunderabad Railway Station. Police formed multiple special teams, deployed drone cameras, checked lodges and hotels in the area, and tracked phone locations. All current security guards at the community were questioned. Some later reports indicated detention of the suspect in Sanathnagar. A case was registered at Bollarum police station, initially focused on kidnapping and later including murder charges (including provisions related to kidnapping for ransom). Family members expressed outrage and called for strict punishment. The investigation continues to establish the full sequence of events. This is a tragic and sensitive case involving the death of a young child. Details are drawn from multiple contemporary news reports (including Times of India, India Today, and others) published on October 11, 2026, and remain subject to the ongoing police investigation.
