BJP Mahila Morcha Members Taken Into Custody During Attempt to Gherao KPCC Office in Bengaluru ​Bengaluru High drama unfolded near the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee ( #KPCC ) office in #Bengaluru on Monday as Police took several members of the #BJP Mahila Morcha into custody before they could march to the building. ​The demonstration was organized to protest against #Congress Lok Sabha MP and Jawaharlal Nehru University ( #JNU ) Professor Angomcha Bimol Akoijam over sexual assault allegations, with the protesters accusing senior Congress leadership of attempting to cover up the incident. ​Carrying placards and chanting slogans against Congress leader #RahulGandhi , the protesters, led by Member of the Legislative Council ( #MLC ) Bharathi Shetty and former Karnataka Bal Bhavan chairperson Poornima Prakash, attempted to lay siege to the KPCC headquarters. ​However, police personnel deployed in strength along the route intercepted the marchers, preventing them from breaching the barricades.
