Our contention was that the 14-day police custody is an excessively long duration; there is no justification for such an extended period. Regarding the reason cited in the remand application—that they need to recover a weapon and investigate its source— the accused had already been in police custody for two days under a transit remand granted by a magistrate in Kota. They have had sufficient opportunity to interrogate him, rendering such a long period of police custody unnecessary. As for the electronic evidence, such as Call Detail Records (CDR), it can easily be obtained from the mobile service provider; the physical custody of the accused is not required for this purpose... After hearing both sides, the court remanded the accused to police custody until October 31st..." Video — http://nitter.meowing.monster/ANI/status/2112871059208986771#m
