Bartir Bil in North 24 PGS is being considered for development as an โAqua Biodiversity Parkโ, with the nearly 450-acre wetland in Amdangaโs Beraberia panchayat area already attracting migratory birds, tourists and boat rides. The bil supports diverse fish species, while some local residents are earning from tourism through boating and photography. Work has begun to green nearly 7 km of roads around the wetland, with a target of planting around 3,000 native, environment-friendly trees over the next 3โ4 years. The programme has started with 50 Krishnachura saplings. Locals want tourism growth to be balanced with agriculture, fisheries and wetland biodiversity, while addressing reported concerns over evening substance use and illegal sales.
