Deeply saddened by the tragic incident at the Chorbagan Sarbojanin #DurgaPuja Puja pandal in #Kolkata . My heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured and strength for the affected families during this difficult time. NDTV Profit News (@NDTVProfit) At least 17 people have died and 25 have been injured in stampede-like chaos at the Chorbagan Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal in north Kolkata on Saturday evening, according to reports. Kolkata Police said the incident occurred around 7:40 pm on October 17 at the exit gate of the Sarada Park (Chor Bagan) pandal under Girish Park police station, amid heavy crowding and rain. A section of the pandal reportedly gave way as devotees gathered to celebrate Durga Puja. The injured were evacuated and taken to Calcutta Medical College Hospital for treatment. Police personnel and disaster management officials reached the site. — https://nitter.kareem.one/NDTVProfit/status/2111498556427452805#m
