The trials, scheduled from 1 November to 31 December 2026, are currently available for passengers travelling on #IndiGo @IndiGo6E from Chennai (MAA) to Dubai (DXB) (6E1471) and Chennai (MAA) to Colombo (CMB) (6E1179), along with select international routes operated by Air India @airindia . Additional international routes and airlines are expected to be progressively included during the trial period, ahead of the planned full-scale launch in 2027. To use the facility, eligible passengers must first create an e-passport-based Verifiable Credential (VC) through the Digi Yatra mobile application. This involves scanning the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) of their e-passport, reading its embedded chip using the Near Field Communication (NFC) feature of a compatible smartphone, capturing a selfie and verifying the details. Once created, the credential is securely stored in the passenger's Digi Yatra wallet on the device and can be used at airport touchpoints enabled for the trials. #DigiBuddies will be available at the airport to guide passengers through the registration process, explain the usage of the facility and provide assistance at designated touchpoints. #DigiYatra complements existing travel procedures and does not replace mandatory airline document checks, immigration procedures or other applicable travel formalities. Passengers are required to carry their travel documents throughout their journey. #DigiYatra #DigiYatraInternational #InternationalTravel #ePassport #PassengerExperience #TravelTech #DigitalIndia #AAIAirports #DigiYatraTrials @MoCA_GoI | @AAI_Official | @DigiYatraOffice | @Pib_MoCA | @PIBChennai | @CBCCHENNAI_MIB
