Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Chennai to inaugurate a 14.5-kilometre stretch of the Chennai Metro Rail Phase 2 alongside Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. The Chief Minister personally received the Prime Minister at the Chennai airport before both leaders shared the stage and jointly flagged off the new metro section between Poonamallee and Porur.
